DISTRIBUTION
Found in South America, it generally grows alongside rivers and streams in the Amazon basin. In Peru it is mainly distributed in the Loreto Region.

APPLICATIONS
Bark: Macerating a portion of the bark for 15 days in a liter of brandy is used to combat rheumatic pain and colds. Take a glass of the preparation in the morning and at bedtime, bathing later to avoid fever. It is also used as an antidiarrheal, for which a cup of 50 grams of bark is cooked in a liter of water. The preparation is allowed to cool and is taken as water of time.
